Voters Return Incumbents to Rapid City Council

The Rapid City Council will be seeing few changes after the June 3rd election. The Rapid City Journal notes that incumbents Steve Laurenti and Amanda Scott (wards 2 and 4) were both re-elected (Chad Lewis in ward 3 ran unopposed). In wards 1 and 5, the current council members chose not to run, but even in those races the candidates are not unfamiliar to voters; Darla Drew, winner in ward 5, is a newcomer, but Ron Weifenbach had previously served as an alderman for ward 1, as well as running for mayor in 2011.
