Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Inc. Files Trademark Infringement Lawsuit

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Incorporated (SMRi) has filed a lawsuit against Ken Mortimer, Renegade Classics and the owners of a Renegade Classics retail store in Georgia on the grounds of trademark infringement, the Black Hills Pioneer reports.

The complaint filed in federal court details Mortimer's and Renegade Classics' use of the term "Sturgis Rally Week" on apparel products, which infringes SMRi's rights to the Sturgis Bike Week, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Sturgis trademarks. This is the second lawsuit SMRi has pursued alleging trademark infringement, with other lawsuits against Rushmore Photo and Gift and Walmart being carried out as well.
