Student Fee Could Boost Faculty Pay

The South Dakota Board of Regents meets next week to discuss tuition and fees for South Dakota universities, reports the Rapid City Journal.  The South Dakota Higher Education Enhancement Fee would cost $5.07 per credit hour for students.  Based on credit hour enrollment, this would generate about $4 million that would be used to gradually increase salaries.

The fee would be in place for at least 10 years, but the Board of Regents would need to determine if it is a flat rate or if it would increase yearly.
