Spearfish Ranks Among America's Top 10 Best Small Towns

A score based on more than 40 data pionts ranks Spearfish as America's No. 8 best small town by Livability.com, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. The town ranked No. 7 in 2014. 

The website evaluated more than 12,000 towns with populations below 20,000 for its list of the 100 best small towns

The website cited Spearfish's modern fiber-optic telecommunications network, well-regarded schools, quaint shopping, the arts and culture scene, quality healthcare facilities and the town's proximity to the Black Hills National Forest and recreational opportunities. 

With events at Black Hills University, family activities, shopping and cultural attractions, Spearfish has no shortage of things to do.
