Spearfish Hires New School Superintendent

Spearfish's public K-12 schools will have a new superintendent for the 2016-2017 school year, reports the Black Hills Pioneer

Kirk Easton, a graduate of Black Hills State University, will take the job when Dave Peters retires after 16 years in the job. Easton currently leads the Lennox school district in southeastern South Dakota. Before that, he served as superintendent of the Warner school district in northeastern South Dakota.

Easton said he and his family were drawn to outdoor opportunities in the Black Hills and the Spearfish community.
