Spearfish City Council Adopts Public Hearing Resolution

The Spearfish City Council has adopted a resolution regarding conduct at public hearings in order to maintain professionalism, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. The resolution contains several rules of order ranging from signing up to speak at a public hearing to banning threatening and abusive comments.

The City Council also created a guide for Spearfish residents outlining the procedures and rules at public hearings that includes an overview of the provisions in the resolution. Posters outlining the new rules will also be placed in council chambers to help inform citizens of the new changes.
