Short Term Rental Ordinance Rejected by City Council

The Rapid City Council has voted to reject the short term rental ordinance. The Rapid City Journal reported that after much debate that centered on the lack of complaints in the area regarding residents who use sites such as AirBnb to rent out their residences temporarily, most of the council members agreed that the ordinance in its current form was not needed. Another version of the ordinance, however, could come in the future as the issue of regulating short term rentals is not taken care of.
