Pennington County commissioners awarded a $9.1 million building contract to Scull Construction Services for the building of a new county health facility. Though all bids came in under predictions, the Rapid City Journal reported that the final cost of the building will be nearly $15 million due to contingency, technological, and administrative costs. The new facility will have programs to help with drug and alcohol problems, detox and crisis care areas, and a space for training new police recruits.
