Rural Schools Introduce Four-Day School Week Next Fall

The Meade County school board decided in their May 12th meeting to implement a four-day school week in their rural schools beginning this fall, reports the Black Hills Pioneer.

The school district’s six rural schools will use Friday as a teacher planning day, which Superintendent Don Kirkegaard says is difficult with a full week of classes. The schools affected are Atall, Elm Springs, Enning, Union Center, Hereford, and Opal, which will continue to teach the same amount of hours for all students in the district.
