Rapid City Upgrades Parking Ticket Software

Changes are coming for how Rapid City tracks parking fines. The Rapid City Journal reported that the city has purchased new equipment and software set to go online in May. Once installed, ticketing information will be uploaded immediately instead of waiting for the end of the shift. Parking enforcement officers will have an easier time tracking delinquent vehicles. Drivers with unpaid tickets will also be mailed reminders starting in June. An online portal for taking payments will also open in May.

Information on the city's downtown parking policies are available online. Parking news stories are linked in the Black Hills Knowledge Network's online news archive.
