Rapid City School District Offers Summer Lunches

Several Rapid City Areas Schools will be offering free meals to children this summer, reports My Town Black Hills.

The school district announced the addition of two more schools to the existing summer meal program - Canyon Lake and Rapid Valley. During the summer, some children are not guaranteed meals like they are during the school year. Rapid City Area Schools hope to offer all kids aged 0-18, not just those registered in the district, an opportunity for meals over the summer.

Breakfast will be offered at:

  • General Beadle Elementary – June 1-August 14 – 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m

  • Knollwood Elementary School – June 1-July 17 – 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

  • Central High School – see rcas.org for more information

Lunch will be offered at:

  • General Beadle Elementary School – Beginning June 1 – 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

  • Canyon Lake Elementary School – Beginning June 1 – 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

  • Robbinsdale Elementary School – Beginning June 1 – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • Valley View Elementary School – Beginning June 1 – 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

  • Rapid Valley Elementary School – Beginning June 1 – 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
