Rapid City’s Youth Transit Ridership Continues to Rise

The number of Rapid City youth choosing to take RapidRide increased by 27.7 percent in December, according to a city news release. Although school was only in session two weeks in December, there were 6,781 youth passenger trips. An average of 484 students utilized RapidRide per day last month.

Overall passenger trips increased to 30,803 last month up from 30,399 in December of 2015. Roughly 1,531 daily trips were taken last month over the 1,377 trips taken in December 2015, indicating an 11.2 percent increase.
