Beginning this summer, weekly non-stop flights to San Francisco and Los Angeles will be available from the Rapid City Regional Airport. According to NewsCenter1, Airport Director Patrick Dame announced that the United Airlines flights will be available from June 22 through September 1, 2019, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Dame said that this service is “transformational” for state and local tourism and he want to encourage use of the new services to help them grow further in the future. He would like to see the service expand so that Californian flights are also offered mid-week, and to potentially find a future market for non-stop flights to Florida.
Similar seasonal non-stop flights have been offered in previous years, with non-stop service to Newark, NJ having been offered during 2018’s summer season. Non-stop flights to Newark will remain on the schedule for this summer as well, taking off on Saturdays and Sundays from June 22 to September 7.
