Rapid City Police Department Kicks Off “Strong Her” Recruitment Event

The Rapid City Police Department hosted its first “Strong Her” recruitment event Monday night at the Public Safety building, reports KNBN NewsCenter1. The event was aimed at recruiting more women into police work and showcased a variety of career paths within the police department.

Lieutenant Cathy Bock said that while the “Strong Her” event was geared toward recruiting women, the department is looking to recruit strong candidates of any demographic that are motivated and qualified to join the RCPD team. In order to best serve the community, it is important that law enforcement officers reflect the diversity of their community and a variety of differing perspectives, including, of course, female officers as well.
