Rapid City Police Department Announces Drop in Crime Rate

The Rapid City Police Department has released its 2013 Annual Report which has some good news: rates were less for several types of major crimes. KOTA notes that, compared to 2012, 2013 had fewer cases of robberies, burglaries, theft, arson, and stolen vehicles. The report also looks at some of the Police Department's accomplishments for the year, such as the expansion of the Street Crimes Unit into North Rapid, the addition of community service officers, and the pedestrian safety program.
