Rapid City Planning Commission Approves New Digital Sign

Rapid City will soon have a new digital billboard. On April 9, the Planning Commission approved a permit for converting an existing sign to a digital. KOTA reported on reactions: Scenic Rapid City felt this may lead to a proliferation of digital signs. City staff are reviewing each permit request on its own merits; Rapid City's previous rules had been struck down in a court decision.

Billboards have had their supporters and opponents throughout Rapid City's history. More information can be found on the resource page and in the archive.
