Rapid City Mayor Wants to Fix Downtown Parking

Mayor Steve Allender wants a more logical setup for Rapid City's downtown parking. KOTA News reports that he wants to put together a task force to study parking issues. Allender would like to incorporate more parking fees versus fines as well as additional parking spaces for downtown workers.

Updates have not been made to parking in downtown Rapid City since 2007. The Downtown Rapid City Master Plan has parking as a component, but implementing the changes are further off. Previous parking issues are discussed on the Parking resource page, while past news stories can be found on the Black Hills Knowledge Network's online news archive.
