Rapid City Gains New Low-Income Housing for Seniors

The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society broke ground to commence building a new complex for low-income senior living.  The Rapid City Journal reports the new building will house about 50 senior citizens or elderly couples.  The new $4.8 million complex, Echo Glen, will be composed of 40 one-bedroom units and 10 two-bedroom units as well as a library, community room, lounge, and outdoor trails.  Echo Glen will be for residents 62 years old and older only and will be based on income.  Residents could pay as little as $360 per month thanks to federal tax-credit programs.
