Rapid City Downtown Master Plan Focuses on Eastward Expansion

The Rapid City Downtown Master Plan is aiming its focus on developing more mixed-use facilities in the vicinity of the South Dakota School of Mines, reports KOTA News. A recent meeting held by the city’s community planning department shared the plan and its zoning recommendations with the public.

One zoning recommendation updates regulations in the area of downtown east of Fifth Street to include more housing development and entrepreneurial businesses near the School of Mines Campus.

Two additional open houses will occur this spring, while a final plan is slated to be in place by June.
