Rapid City Committee Approves Snow Removal Revision

With approval of the Legal and Finance Committee, an amendment on downtown snow removal heads to the Rapid City Council. Mayor Allender proposed the change after a December storm left downtown streets unplowed. Reporting on the amendment, the Rapid City Journal states that part of the solution is in towing cars left in snow removal areas. There are signs indicating these areas, but little to no towing has occurred in the last 15 years.

If approved, the amendment would not take effect until April and likely would not be enforced until next winter.

This and other stories on snow removal are tracked in the news archive.
