Rapid City Area Schools Recognized for Summer Food Service Program

The Rapid City Area School District was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its service in the Summer Food Service Program in 2016, as reported in a news release by the State of South Dakota. Organizations that participate in the Summer Food Service Program provide meals and snacks to children in low-income areas during the summer months.

The Rapid City Area School District received recognition for increasing participation by creating a partnership with the Rapid City YMCA. Through the partnership, participation numbers increased and additional programming was included.
