With a 3-2 vote, Rapid City's Public Works Committee approved most of the Downtown Area Master Plan. According to the Rapid City Journal, the main sticking point was reverse parking, which would adjust parking spaces along downtown streets so drivers would back into the spaces. The plan will also be seen by the Legal & Finance Committee before going before the full Rapid City Council.
