Public Meetings on Spearfish Canyon State Park Begin

The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department has scheduled a public meeting to solicit input on the proposed Spearfish Canyon State Park, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. The meeting follows the GF&P selection of Peaks to Plains Design as a consultant for the park’s master planning process.

In addition to public meetings, GF&P alongside Peaks to Plains will make presentations to city councils and county commissions throughout the black Hills. A volunteer advisory committee will also be created and comprised by local residents and representatives from organizations.

The first public meeting will be held on January 26 at the W.S. Tretheway Pavilion in Spearfish at 5:30 p.m.
