Protesters Plan Anti-Police Brutality March, RCPD Denies Permit

Rapid City police have denied a permit for a protest march to express opposition to police brutality during the Lakota Nation Invitational tournamnent in Rapid City, reports South Dakota Public Radio

The police chief said the same group held a protest that spawned safety problems in the past. One organizer said the group's activities have been peaceful, and protest leaders might contact the American Civil Liberties Union to intervene in a possible violation of civil rights.
