The Rapid City Police Department has been bonding with the community in the wake of the Dallas shootings, Rapid City Journal and KOTA reports. Officers handed out gift cards to Jimmy John's at the Rapid City Club for Boys on Thursday, July 21. Officers claimed that many of the boys come from homes where interaction with the police isn't always positive, and they wanted to start building a positive bond with the kids.
The boys were also allowed in the squad cars to play with the siren and the radio, explore the cars, and take selfies.
