Pine Ridge Hospital Faces Medicare Cut-off

The Indian Health Service hospital in Pine Ridge could lose eligibility to receive payments from the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs, reports the Associated Press

After federal inspectors found "serious deficiencies," hospital officials were warned the facility could lose the funding. On April 8, IHS officials were given a deadline of April 29 by which to enter into an agreement for a remediation plan with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. If an agreement is not reached, the Pine Ridge Hospital would stop receiving Medicare and Medicaid payments on May 16.
