The Rapid City Journal reports Pennington County employees could see a 2% cost-of-living adjustment in 2017 if the consumer price index tax is retroactively used as proposed. The exact cost of the pay hikes will be figured later this week, but the raise was approved 3-2. Commissioners also approved a grant for Volunteer Fire Departments in the county. This will give them the opportunity to upgrade their equipment that is up to 30 years old. The FY2017 budget discussion will continue at September 20th's meeting and must be approved before October 1st.
