Oglala Sioux Tribe Requests Relocation of Early Voting Location

The Oglala Sioux Tribe requested a transfer of the early voting location in Oglala Lakota County, according to KOTA TV News. The current location for early voting is in the Suanne Big Crow Center, where a murder occurred earlier this month. Oglala Sioux Tribal officials also contend that construction near the facility is impeding voters’ ability to access the facility.

The Tribe put the request into the offices of South Dakota Secretary of State and Fall River County Auditor this week. States Attorney Jim Sword is currently reviewing the request.
