News from the Piedmont Elementary Principal

Dear Parents,

With April upon us, we begin the process of preparing ourselves for the busy end of the school year. There are a multitude of events and activities for our students and also our parents.

The new Smarter Balanced testing assessment will begin on April 7th. The test dates run through the end of the month and it is a busy time for our students to show off all of the wonderful knowledge they have acquired throughout the year. This is the first year that the assessment will be graded, as last year was a year of preparation. I would ask that you do your best to help your student succeed on the assessment. Please be sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats healthy and stay with his or her consistent routine.

In addition, the Piedmont Valley PTA will be conducting the annual talent show in April. Participation is encouraged and the event is always a joy due to the many different talents our students show off. The program will occur on April 24th and 25th. This is always a fun event for the students, parents, teachers, and all those involved with the school.

As you can see April is a busy month. With activity comes fun and I think our students will have a great time during the month of April. As always, I look forward to seeing you here at Piedmont Valley Elementary and I would encourage you to stop by the office to say hello.
