New Sign on Alex Johnson Upsets Citizens

The addition of Starbucks brought a new sign to the Hotel Alex Johnson in downtown Rapid City. Some citizens are not pleased with the twelve-foot diameter logo. According to the Rapid City Journal, one citizen has started an online petition against the sign, believing that it goes against the look of the historic district. The sign was approved by the Historic Sign Review Committee on July 8.
