New FEMA Trailers Arrive On Pine Ridge

The first of 100 new mobile homes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency have arrived in the Slim Buttes area of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, reports South Dakota Public Radio. The mobile homes replace homes damaged too severely to be repaired during spring blizzards and flooding.

The homes will help ease a "severe," chronic housing shortage on the reservation and provide safe, comfortable housing to individual families who have been displaced for months.
