Matthews Opera House Names New Director

Spearfish’s Matthews Opera House has named a new executive director, Becky Naccarato Eastburn, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. Eastburn is originally from Pueblo, Colorado.

Eastburn will take over from Sian Young, who came on with the Matthews in 2011 as an event coordinator before becoming the executive director. Young will finish up her term November 16th, but will continue on in charge of special projects, including grants, capital improvements, and a new website for the nonprofit. Eastburn has been a member of the opera house’s board of directors since January.

Upcoming events at the Matthews Opera House include Santa’s visit on December 1st, Holiday Piano Duets on December 5th, and the Holiday High Tea on December 8th. Eastburn is also looking forward to a successful Big Read program in January, February, and March, put on in partnership with Black Hills State University and the Grace Balloch Memorial Library.
