Community Education On Opt-Out Before June 2nd

Community awareness opportunities on the opt-out decision continue leading into the June 2nd Elections. The Journey Museum & Learning Center and Democracy for Action are sponsoring a free public forum on the proposed Rapid City Area Schools opt-out at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28th.  The Rapid City Journal  and KOTA Territory News  reports "What the Heck is an Opt-Out?"will be held in the Journey Museum's Wells Fargo Theater. There will be panelists from both sides of the issue to share information regarding the proposed school board decision.

Teachers and students are also doing their part to educate the public according to KOTA Territory News.  Both are learning proper canvasing of neighborhoods to help gauge public support on the opt-out vote.
