Hot Springs Hosts First Dakota Challenge

The Hot Springs Bison Booster Club will host its first Dakota Challenge July 10-11 at Cold Brook Reservoir, reports the Rapid CIty Journal.

The Dakota Challenge consists of a 1.7-mile foot race over steep, rough terrain north of Hot Springs, intermixed with several archery target challenges during the timed event. The Hot Springs Bison Boster Club hopes to entice bow hunters preparing for the fall season to add this event to their training schedule.

The challenge will be a fundraiser for the booster club, which supports local athletes with scholarships and equipment not funded by the school.

Registration for the event is $35, with four divisions available: Open Men, Open Women, 40-plus Men and 40-plus Women. The top finishers in each division will be awarded prizes.
