Game, Fish and Parks Seeking $4 Million for Projects

Game, Fish and Parks Department officials preseted to the state legislature’s joint committee on appropriations, seeking $4 million to fulfill the governor's requests.

South Dakota GF&P Department officials preseted to the state legislature’s joint committee on appropriations, seeking $4 million to fulfill the governor's requests according to the Rapid City Journal.

There are three special projects from Governor Daugaard that will need the additional funds: constructing a new visitor center and auditorium at Custer State Park, designating the Blood Run site as a state park, and expanding the Mickelson Trail to connect to Mount Rushmore. The appropriations members did not take any action and legislation has not yet been filed.
