First Thunder Valley House Being Built in Kyle

Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation, located at Sharp’s Corner on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, began construction this week of its first house in nearby Kyle, as reported by KOTA TV News. The organization strives to bridge gaps between sustainable communities, empower youth and create job opportunities on the reservation.

Six additional homes will be built this year. Each house will be sustainably built and energy neutral. Lenny Lone Hill, Thunder Valley’s construction manager, stated that perhaps fourteen additional houses and an apartment building will be in the works in 2017.
