Following a constituent's complaint, an alderman pushes for filtering the Rapid City Public Libraries' computers. According to a Rapid City Journal article, Alderman Chad Lewis was unaware that the computers in the downtown library's main area were not filtered until a constituent complained about someone viewing pornography on the computers (the computers in the library's youth section are filtered).

Library Director Greta Chapman posted a response to the article. She also provided the Library Board’s response, library policy, and provided background regarding filtering software, access to information and legal requirements.
