The city of Deadwood plans a $3.5 million visitor center that would house the Chamber of Commerce, host community events and provide public restrooms, the Black Hills Pioneer reports.
The city hired a design firm in January and is now taking public input on the design. Construction could begin in 2016. The visitor center would be located in the Lower Main parking lot near the McKinley Street bridge and the Whitewood Creek Trail.
