Crow Peak Continues to Blaze Uncontained

Fire crews continue to battle flames on Crow Peak, located west of Spearfish, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. The fires began Friday night following a lightning strike and have spread over nearly 1000 acres. As of Monday night, there is zero percent containment of the fire.

Due to the inaccessibility of the peak, firefighters have yet to gain containment on the fire, which is fed by an abundance of dead trees and high temperatures in the area. Structures in the vicinity of the fire are being monitored but none have been damaged as of yet.
