With the deadline to use the federal funds just over a year away, Pennington County Commissioners are looking into whether the roughly $8 million in federal funds allocated to make repairs on South Rochford Road can be moved to another project. According to the Rapid City Journal, officials are still debating whether the ten mile stretch of South Rochford Road slated to be paved with the federal funds is worthwhile, or if there are higher priority projects to which the funding could be directed. The question is if the government will allow the money to be transferred.
