Counties Not Embracing Additional Property Tax for Road Projects

The deadline for county governments throughout South Dakota to decide whether to levy an additional property tax next year to pay for road and bridge repairs is Wed., July 15. According to the Rapid City Journal article, most counties have not embraced placing additional taxes on their residents.  Pennington county officials were not aware of the option, but once the measure was discovered, the committee has made no plans to adopt it.
