Community Criminal Justice Reform Group Seeks Public Input

I Am Legacy, a community organization and store located in Rapid City’s Rushmore Mall, is trying to make change in the Rapid City criminal justice system. According to KNBN NewsCenter1, I Am Legacy is assembling a Criminal Justice Community Engagement Work group to discuss criminal justice reform in the Rapid City area.

Deputy States Attorney Carolyn Olson says that the group will prioritize two groups: victims of crime and/or their direct family members, and formerly incarcerated individuals and/or their direct family members. The work group will be made up of five to seven members and will seek public input from the community on criminial justice issues and reform. They seek to center those impacted most heavily by the criminal justice system and engage the community at large in the discussion around reform.
