City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Presented, Encouraged by Local Cyclists

The city presented a new plan to make Rapid City a more bicycle and pedestrian-friendly area on Tuesday, pleasing local cyclists.

From the Rapid City Journal:

"A plan to make Rapid City friendlier to bicycles and pedestrians would be an excellent step forward as long as it includes more than just new sidewalks and bike lanes, local cyclists said at an open house Tuesday.

The city's Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which was presented to the community Tuesday, includes a number of recommendations for encouraging biking and walking over the next 20 years, ranging from closing specific gaps in the sidewalk to the adoption of "complete streets" policy to ensure pedestrian and bike facilities are included in future street projects."
