Citizen Vision Fund Committee Makes Recommendations For 2017

The Citizen Vision Fund Committee has finalized its funding recommendations for 2017, according to NewsCenter 1.

The committee, made up of nine members, has been meeting for the last three months to discuss which projects to fund. The Vision Fund has the overarching goal of improving Rapid City.  Twenty-five project proposals were submitted, and the committee has selected 10 to recommend.  Included in their recommendations are $2 million for Rural America Initiatives to build a community center, and $1.8 million for South Dakota School of Mines & Technology to make improvements to O'Harra Stadium.  The recommendations will be presented to the Rapid City Common Council, which will make the final decision when it meets on Monday, December 5th.
