Butte County Rail Authority Approves Lease Agreement with Belle Fourche Development Corp

The Butte County Railroad Authority recently approved a lease for rail property at the Belle Fourche Industrial and Rail Park, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. The lease was made between the county and the Belle Fourche Development Corporation (BFDC).

The lease indicates that a lot of approximately nine acres located near the industrial park’s rail siding will be leased for $1 per year for the first five years. BFDC is listed as the party responsible for maintenance and operating expenses. The lease includes a review at the end of the five-years to revisit the lease rate for a second term.

The new lease is part of an effort to develop BFDC’s mission to promote the industrial rail park in Belle Fourche. To date, 13 parties are interested in locating their businesses at the Belle Fourche Industrial Rail Park, according to BFDC Executive Director Hollie Stalder.
