Assistance Offered to Homeless During Heatwave in Rapid City

With temperatures hovering over 90 degrees in Rapid City, the Cornerstone Rescue Mission is offering water, food and air conditioning to those in need, reports KOTA News. The Pennington County Sheriff’s office as well as the Rapid City Police Department are also assisting individuals who may be in need of medical attention due to the rising temperatures.   

Many individuals have experienced health afflictions as a result of the recent hot weather, including sunburns, heat stroke, dizziness, disorientation and dehydration. Law enforcement officials are encouraging people to stay inside during peak temperatures.
