$9 Million Housing Project Begins on Pine Ridge

Nine districts of the Pine Ridge Reservation have received $9 million for a 45-home project.  Paid through a $6 million HUD loan, the Rapid City Journal reports the loan will be repaid through rents collected on the homes. In addition, the Oglala Sioux Lakota Housing Authority is applying for a $1.4 million grant from the Indian Community Development Block Grant to build nine more homes.
