$3.1 Million in Road Improvements in the Works for Lawrence County

Over the next few months, Lawrence County will conduct $3.1 million in road improvement projects, reports the Black Hills Pioneer.  Repairs for St. Onge Road came in at $400,000 less than anticipated, which helped facilitate progress on the remaining projects.

Additional projects for the coming months include repaving nearly five miles of Vanocker Canyon at $1.4 million dollars; sealing projects on 5.6 miles of Old Belle Road, 3.5 miles of Acorn Ridge Road, 1.3 miles of Hillsview road, and 1.6 miles of McGuigan Road; graveling projects on 23.4 miles of roads for $550,000 and restriping 85 miles of pavement for $40,000.

Minutes from the County Commission meetings can be found on the Lawrence County website. To read more about Lawrence County, visit the Black Hills Knowledge Network’s community profile or online news archive.
