211 Helpline and Rapid City Collaborate on Snow Removal Alerts

The City of Rapid City and the 211 Helpline Center will work together this winter to help keep area businesses and residents informed about snow removal and other winter weather messages. In a news release by the City, once a downtown snow removal alert is issues, the City will inform the 211 Helpline Center to help distribute the message. The City will also utilize social media and traditional media platforms. Area residents may also text “RCSnow” to 898211 for snow removal updates.

The Snow Removal Alert applies to the downtown core area includes Fifth through Ninth Streets and Omaha to Kansas City Streets on both sides. Vehicles must be cleared from the area from 2:00-8:00 a.m. or fines and towing charges will be assessed.
