Storybook Island

Storybook Island is a free children's park in Rapid City. The Rapid City Rotary Club founded Storybook Island Inc. in 1959 for establishing and running the park. Except for 1972, the park has been open every year from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Storybook Island is located at 1301 Sheridan Lake Road, in Rapid City.

Beginning Friday, November 25th, Storybook Island will be featuring it's Christmas Night of Lights.

Storybook Island is open May 28, 2016 - September 5, 2016 from 9am - 7pm for the Summer Season.

Storybook Island hosts an annual Princess and Pirates ball.  In 2016 it will be held on Friday, September 9th.

In collaboration with the Rapid City Rotary Club, a collection has been established with images from Storybook Island's history. This collection includes design sketches and other items from Storybook Island, as well as photographs provided by members of the community.

Celebrating the 55th anniversary of the founding of Storybook Island Inc., the Knowledge Network posted selected images from the archive to their Facebook page from August 18-22. Images will also be linked below.
